Looking for Review of no!no! 8800 Series Hair Remover

Follow me on:

Watching late night television, my friend saw the infomercial for the no!no! Hair Remover. She said they make it look so easy and she would really love to get rid or at least reduce some of her facial hair. But she doesn't want to spend the money unless it will really work. Then I saw in my hair removal forum, another reader was also looking for reviews.

Since the new no!no! 8800 that can be used on the face has been out for about a year or so, I'd love to get some reviews and see how it's working out. I contacted the company this past Monday for one to try, but I haven't heard back yet.

So if you have tried the no!no! 8800 we'd love to hear what you think. Sound off in the Hair Removal Forum.

Very poor customer service from california office. My nono arrived in a damaged box and cream tube was open. They do not protect packages by placing the product in a shipping box. Never seen such amateur packaging and customer service. My nono box was clearly opened in transit because the box was not put in a separate box. For the price the nono sells for, I was expecting my nono to be delivered in a box that would protect it. Stay away. Buy it in a store and not from these amateurs.

Not only does the NO NO NOT WORK, but it made me have about three times as much dark course hair on my face. It was worse than what waxing did. I now only go for electrolysis. Do not purchase the No No. Never got my money back either so I kept using it for a year. What a mistake that was. So much more course hair.

Curious about what exactly the NoNo does?—I bought one, and i’ll give my observations here.—The Thermicon tips are basically a very thin wire, or filament, stretched across two electrodes. When electrical current is passed through the filament, it heats up red-hot. Hair that comes in contact with the heated filament will combust and instantly burn down to the skin’s surface. There’s no pain, so long as the filament does not contact the skin directly. And the combusted remains of the hair are easily brushed away. I think it’s funny how they call combusted hair “crystallized” in their advertizements and instructions. There might even be grounds for a semi-frivolous class-action lawsuit with that, because combustion and crystallization are two entirely different things.—It smells awful. There isn’t any way i know of to make burnt hair smell pleasant.—The filament is normally in a retracted position within the head of the device. There’s a small roller with a traction band around it, and a small belt on one side that runs deeper inside the head. When the roller turns, the filament extends and heats up, and a bright violet-colored LED illuminates. The roller must rotate at the proper speed. Too fast or too slow and the device will not activate.—More about that light: I’m positive it’s an Ultra-Violet LED, but i don’t have any way to measure the wavelength yet. I’m paranoid about UV light. I always wear UV sunglasses and sunblock when i go outside during the day, even when the sky is cloudy. I’ll probably be returning my NoNo because of this.—Does it actually work? Yes it does. I think it’s a silly device, but i was able to make it work.—Yours, Mike3

I have been using the no no for about a year and it really doesn’t do much of anything. I use it every day and still no results. Waxing is better and the results are better.

DOES NOT WORK! DOES NOT WORK! Good luck with the 60 days deal… I feel i was taken for a very expensive “ride”. Regretful decision…
