Update on no!no! Hair Removal Reviews

By , About.com GuideMarch 4, 2011

Follow me on:

I recently put up a blog post asking for no!no reviews, specifically the 8800 series that can be used on facial hair because so many people have been asking if the product really works- even my massage therapist. Well thank you readers! We have some in the hair removal forum (read reviews) and would love to have more.

On February 14, 2011 I also emailed the company asking to review their product. I haven't heard anything from them. Now most companies are more than willing to provide a sample of their product for review, because they're very confident in the quality and stand behind the claims of how well it works. Now, I'm not saying that the makers of no!no! don't believe in their product. But it really makes you wonder why they're not emailing me back and sending out a no!no! so we can test it out.

I have been using the Nono now for a month, it hurts but just a little bit, it hasn’t cut, burned or dissapeared a SINGLE hair on any place on my body, even when it is the correct length. Oh but it burns my sking and leaves visible cat like scratches and in top of that because the skin is wounded when I put the lotion that you have to put after the Nono, it burns as hell. I emaled them twice to see what could I do. Nobody had the prefessional ethic to answer me, so I came here and published this; that is the truth.

well the first nono i recieved worked good at removing my hair but it came back just as fast . when i used it it always felt like there was still stubble there. I used it every day on my face for about a month and then it died and i had to send for a new one. when i recieved the 2nd one it worked for about 2 months but again i had to use it every day pretty much. then it quit working properly and i had to get another one. i have had the 3rd one now for about 2 weeks and i still see hair on my face but notice that the hair on my neck is pretty much gone and i don’t have to use it on there so much. oh yah after my first nono i only use the larger head on my face cause it seems to work better for me anyways. i do on ocasion get the little burn lines but once you get used to using it properly it isn’t so bad. all in all i am still optomistic that it will eventually work like it does for everyone else since the alternative for me is lots of hair on my face all over but the worst area is my lip and chin where the hair grows like weeds. i would pluck it every day and had red sores from that. i just hope that this one will work for a long time

I’ve been using the NO!NO! 8800 for 6 weeks. It cost me almost £200, which is a huge amount of money for me & I have notice NO difference in hair growth at as yet!On the box it says: NO HAIR! (It hasnt removed or burnt a single hair & i’m still shaving as much as i was before!), NO PAIN!(Have burnt myself numerous times & it has given me rashes), NO CUTS! (Has given me quite a few small cuts), NO INGROWING HAIRS! (I have more ingrowing hairs then when i shaved!)…. I will keep trying but am loosing faith very fast. With all the time i’ve put in, i could have shaved for a whole year!!!

I bought the no no after many promises of it working .I belived it got suckered into bying it after 300.00 dollars later .I used it and it hurt like heck and left many cat like scrashes on my face I went to wk. and I was never so embarresed as every one stared at me wondering what they were looking at i came home looked in the mirrior and saw my face. I thought the burning was because it was my first time. i called back and was told it was the first time they ever heard of this happening. I cant belive that for one moment.

Well, thanks for your honesty, folks. Saw the ad for this product today and thought I had found that perfect birthday present for my daughter who is hard to please but could really use something like this – if it works. I’ll save my money and give it to her instead.

(8) constance says:

I was thinking of buying this myself. Sounds so good! But I read all the bad reviews on HSN and decided not to. Then I saw it on there again and they were talking about all the great feedback left and how the customers loved it and that it was a “Top Customer Pick” so I was going to take a look again. Now apparently they have changed the item number or something because all those reviews are gone. Think I will stay away from this one unless someone I know personally has used it.

(9) rachael says:

I used the no no on my face and arms for three months. I had little “scratches” on my face as well. Not only did it NOT work, I think the hair on my arms is even thicker. So I’m out $300. If you want to know if you should buy this, I would say, “no! no!”

Unfortunately, the NO!NO! did not work for me. After more than two months of consistent use on arms and legs (5x per week), my hair growth has not diminshed.

(11) Linda says:

I originally saw No!No! and looked for reviews which I found to be a bit more favorable than here. I bought it on “Double your money back” but when I used it for 30 days and it did nothing but burn my skin, definitely not decreasing the hair, I called to send it back. They said I MUST use it for 60 days to get the money back on shipping and “double;” when I returned it after 60 days they had charged me for the item; they finally refunded the purchase and shipping, but then sent my account to a collection agency which has been calling for 2 months now. Apparently the double your money back is for them, not me.

(12) Eden says:

So, I’m just wondering for you guys who have had issues with the NoNo; which model did you use? I’ve read reviews comparing the old model with the new 8800 and everyone seems to like it a lot better.

(13) Sandi says:

Beware of fake positive reviews. I did a google search of reviews for this product and the many initial reviews that were at the top of the search results were all glowingly positive reviews. However embedded in each of the reviews was a direct link to buy the product at a discount. Makes for a very biased and fake review.

(14) gina says:

I received my no no just last night, and couldn’t wait to use it.
I used it on my arm this morning, i didn’t notice any hair removal. My skin feels extremely dry even using the lotion that comes with it. Worst of all i used it on my upper lip and chin, and its like the device burned my skin and is still burning after 24 hours of using it. Do not buy it, i’m not waiting another day to use it, it’s getting shipped out tomorrow!

Thanks everyone. I’m just watching the infomercial now and was intrigued. I was pretty sure it was too good to be true, I’ve been burnt before ordering from infomercials. Now I ALWAYS do my research first, I can’t afford to throw my money away. Obviously I will NOT be ordering this device. I wish there was something like this that DID work. I can’t afford professional treatments. Guess I’ll simply have to continue shaving and waxing. At least I’ve learned to thread my own eyebrows, thanks to a lot of kind people on You Tube. I’ll NEVER go back to tweezing.

(22) Jules says:

Hi All,

I have had some sucess on my upper lip, but the chin area is a nightmare – stubble returns the next day, with no improvement on hair re-growth what so ever.

If anyone ever needs to contact NONO with a problem with their NONO etc, dont waste your time.. they ignore you, wont return your call or emails no matter what. There is no customer service what so ever with this company and im just sorry i spent my hard earned cash with them.

(23) Caroline says:

I purchased the new No No – what a No No for me that was! It is totally ineffective, time consuming and way, way over-hyped. Try getting your money back under the 60 day free trial offer – that’s a joke. I send it back recorded delivery after 2 weeks because I was so dissatisfied with it. They first of all said they would refund, then following many phone calls even tried to dispute receiving the item back when I had proof of delivery. Please people don’t be suckered into their fake claims of hair removal – the old and tested ways are the best I’m afraid. This is nohing more than a BIG CON!!!!

One very unhappy, stilly fuzzy and financially strapped individual.

I used it on my face. It burned and left scratches. The lotion was NOT soothing at all. I finally got relief from ice packs on my face. Now I am trying to return it. They will just keep draging their feet about the return and then the 60 days will expire. I am going to contact my credit card co and see if they can reverse the charges. Wish I would have checked this web site FIRST.

(28) Hope says:

Hi everyone. I purchased the new model of nono 1.5 months ago. Its not as bad actually. I dont use it on my face much, rather my arms and legs.

I think the burning n scratches result from sliding the machine with too much pressure on ur skin, or too frequently in the same place or both. i’ve had the little cat scratch , but sooo rare only like a couple of times. the little burns, i’ve had very minor almost every single time i used it, but very minor and i know its a place that i try to run over with the nono like 5 times. [recommended 3 times max?]

Does it work?

Well, i do see less hair regrowth than before however the thickness is the same. n it does not grow back as fast as it does if i use a razor, but not as slowly as i thought either.
I only use it twice a week. It does require loads of patience. It does not remove all hair instantly cuz its not a razor.

After the 2 weeks, i actually called to return it n stuff cuz i thought it wasnt working, but the girl told me its not gona shave ur hair like an electric razor [like it implies in their promo ads] n to use other hair removing products along with it to get rid of ALL of the hair.
Also, she said that it took her 6 months to get rid of all of her hair.

So I decided to give it another try, I am beg. to see results….
im hoping to benefit from the money i invested in it and will use it for a bit longer before giving up….

Thanks guys, I was about to buy it for myself. As I saw the ad on TV. The product seemed as if this was the answer to hair removal. Your reviews have really helped me from not buying it & saving me £200. My hubby will be happy… ;o)

(31) PAM says:

I have been using the NONO for 2 months now. Not as often as suggested. I have never been burned but have scratched myself due to pushing to hard. I have had good results on my peach fuzz on my face, my legs have been the best. I hardly have any hair left except by my knees, It seems to be harder to use if there are curves. I did have a problem with the smaller attachment in that it never worked. So far I like the nono.

Thank you all so much – I’m so glad that I bothered to do a little research for no!no! reviews that weren’t linked to the sales site, before I purchased their product.
Like many of you, I’m desperate for a hair reduction system that allows me remove my body and facial hair without involving someone else…what a bloody shame that it’s a complete rip off. Not to mention the disappointment you must all be feeling.
Sounds like I’ll have have to trundle my way back to the Beauty Salon….phooey….

(34) Curous Hubby says:

Well, I’m a guy and just saw the “info”-mercial and was curious why there was no price advertised (first clue). Then I thought why didn’t they show a close up of the product in use? I mean they show men and women using it in the ad, but nothing but pictures to show its effectiveness (second clue), so thinkning this may be good for my wife, I though I would look for some reviews on it and hopefully find the price (WAY too expensive IMO) and learn if it’s any good. Well, I have to say Thanks! to all who have left reviews, not one single positive review (third and final clue). Thank you. Gotta love the internet…I learned all this in less time than it took to watch the AD! ALl the best to you who learn from the reviews.

Hi,

I got mine in the mail two weeks ago. I purchased a second as a X-mas gift at the same time. So far anyway, I agree with Pam. I am very busy (like all of us) and have only been using it three times or four times a week, but have had good results on my legs and arms.

It is not a razor and does not act like one, but I can already see and feel a difference. It immediately burns hair off, not 100% at once, but pretty dramatic difference. Guess will see about the regrowth……

All of you who are having a hard time getting a refund, regardless of the reason NEED to be reporting that to the BBB.

(39) Jrose says:

I purchased the NoNo 6 weeks ago and have used it twice a week as the manufacturers suggested with fantastic results! Yes, it does take consistency and time for results but since they tell you this up front, I am surprised by those folks who wrote in with a negative comment after only using it a couple of times.

I just finished using it and felt compelled to report that after 6 weeks I am definitely seeing less hair growth. I bought this product primarily for my face (chin and upper lip) but also starting using it on my legs. I much prefer using it on my face than waxing (no pain and more effective) and it’s rewarding to see less hair every time I use it. On your legs, it does not leave a smooth finish like a razor, so I wouldn’t advise starting the treatment in summer, but since I’m seeing less re-growth now , I’m hoping most or all of the leg hair will be gone by the time short season rolls back around.

I am planning tom purchase a NoNo for my daughter for Christmas. Yes, they are not inexpensive, but it was definitely worth the price to me.

I tried this product; my skin burned, it seemed to die out and then come alive again; it left a stubble on my chin and my skin quite frankly a wreck – a terrible product and one, I opinion, makes false claims. I sent mine back and after a gread deal of emailing was refunded my monies. Dont buy.

(42) Eliza says:

thanks for the reviews you guys!

like others, i’d been flirting with buying this thing. so glad I found this site, I suspected it was too good to be true.

in the past, I’d bought an electrolysis machine… it’s got this needle you have to poke into the pores. it was horrible… def don’t recommend that, either.

separately, if any of you have moderate chin hair, don’t pluck it. shaving is the way to go. plucking it will release little andogen stress chemicals, makes it grow back stronger. lol, i am so happy I’m not the only hairy lady with my secret beard running around

(44) Roxanne says:

Bought No No in April and here we are in Nov., and I have given up on it. I used 3-4 X a week for over 3 months and the results were minimal and still had to shave in between. At first it seemed to work on peach fuzz on my face but now I am not even seeing results there. The bit of hair it would remove would just grow back as quickly and it would constantly stall out and would need restarting. The company never responds back to you so don’t waste time emailing.

I bought the NONO hair remover and acne treater in September tried it for 39 days was not satisfied and called on 102411 to return they practically begged me to keep it and offered a $90 off if I continued to use it, so I obliged and still was not happy. I called today 11/28/11 to return it and they said SORRY you are past the 60 day guarantee by 11 days and tried to give me more instructions on how to use it. Seriously if it worked and wasn’t a scam, I would have wanted to keep it. SAY NONO to the NONO, they are only out for the buck not customer satisfaction!!!!!!

November 30, 2011 at 4:33 pm
(47) Darrin says:

I just bought it and after first use I’m very disappointed.

I mean my hair is pretty thick being a guy (using it on my chest) and I was told to be pretty much disappointed from the lady of the store I bought it from for the first while.

So ill stick with it for awhile and see.

But quite literally even on its maximum setting it didn’t burn off a single hair from my chest. Not one. Maybe my hair is too short atm (it is stubbly as recommended)? But I am quite frustrated. How am I supposed to see if the hair will regrow “less thick” if it doesn’t even remove the hair in the first place?

Should I grow my hair out to like 5-6mm before using it? Am I to expect it to only “cut” it to like stumble length instead of a clean shave?

Any men out there that have tried it had success please let me know your stories. :) thanks.

Another “beauty” product which promises so much and delivers so little. And yet I still hope. I thought our laws (whether you are in US, Canada, England or Australia) were meant to prevent this kind of scam. I would complain to the TV stations and/or advertising standards council, but since I haven’t purchased the product because of the comments here, I don’t really have a valid complaint. Maybe someone who had purchased could get these people off the air and protect others. I was initially hopeful that this device really worked, but I noticed that the “reviews” I was reading were just veiled advertising. It took about 4 pages of Google results before I got to this page. Clearly much of the inflated price is spent on making sure those fake reviews swamp the searches by consumers who are checking out the product.
Many thanks to those who shared.

(50) Katherine says:

I received the nono as a gift in August. It is supposed to slow down the hair re-growth process after a time (I think it was about 60 days), so I did as instructed for 60 days. I used the nono on one leg and a standard razor on the other leg during that time. At the end of the 60 days, there was no change in the speed of regrowth on the leg that I used the nono on compared to the leg that I used the razor on.

Also, I used the nono on my face using the small tip as instructed and I received slight burns across my upper lip. It was impossible to use it smoothly across the contours of my lip. I looked pretty funny with burn stripes on my mouth that looked like wrinkles at first glance. It was very embarrassing.

I told my mother how poorly the nono performed and it was then that she told me she had paid about $300 for it! I was shocked! That is way too much to pay for it even if it DID work, but under the circumstances, it was just plain robbery!

I just received my No!No! Today as a Christmas present, and to be honest with you, it’s not pain free at all.
The first time I used it, although I had no burns or scratches, the lotion made my skin irritated and burn like crazy. As for the smell, they say you can cover it up, trust me you can’t. I tried febreeze air fresheners because they say they remove odors and all I could smell was the burnt hair.
The hair removal on my legs and arms was quite effective though, it seemed to remove it quite easily. I like the idea of the product because it eliminates the need to shave, which I hate doing.
I hope I desensitize to it because it really makes everything easier.
Although this is my first time actually using the product myself, I tested it out in stores about 2 months ago, and I still had limited hair growth in that one spot when I got mine.
I guess all I really have to say is that I think this product, if used right, really deserves a chance.

I bought the NONO for my wife in Nov as an early Christmas present so that we both could try it for the 60 day triple guarantee money back trial period. The order date was 8 Nov, I will be calling them today to return the product as it is not as effective as the product is advertised. My wife has been using on her legs and I have been using it on my stomach and chest. We have had no burns or scratches, but we both have stubble even after using it more than 45 days. Yes it has a burnt smell but no hair is crystalized as they claim, even if you use the buffing pad, the hair stubble is still there. I agree with some of the other posters that the first several sites are simply shortcuts to the NONO web site offering the money back trial period. I would love to see a close up of the hair being crystalized and then buffed off. Perhaps if you had very very fine hair it would work for you. If you are curious, try it and see for yourself, if it works keep it, if not return it. I plan on leaving more reveiws so more people can read it, it is how I buy items. It didn’t work for us and I will be returning it.

I bought the no no using the payment plan. They had absolutely NO NO problem taking the money from my bank account, but when I tried to contact them…..crickets chirping!! The hairs that it actually DID remove were stubbly, just like the day or two after you shave with a razor. I have very fine hair. I’m blonde and have used an epilator quite a bit! So, it’s basically a $300 CRAPPY razor. I’m NOT happy, and it seems as though their entire customer service dept. is non existent! If you’re thinking about buying one, DON’T DO IT!!!! I am so glad that I read all the negative feedbacks , I was getting ready to charge my credit card, I am so frustrated with my facial hair.. even my kids notice it… Its embarrasing, if anyone knows what can I use at least to keep hair off for a few weeks please let me know. I never leave my house without my tweezers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To reduce regrowth of facial hair you can get a perscription (in Canada) for “Vaniqa”. It is an expensive cream that will slow (not prevent) hair regrowth. I have been using it for years as it gives me a longer time between hair removal but you can not stop using it or you go back to same regrowth. I am thinking about buying the No No to supplement the cream but unsure after reading these reviews. I do not want to let the hair on my face (which is coarse and dark) grow to try the NoNo, does anyone know if it works on very short hair?

I almost purchased this product after watching the infomercial, it looks so easy and quick. However these post made me glad I havent. I have already purchased the “Tria” and I will let you girls know how that works. A little more expensive but worth it if it works, we’ll see!

My experiences with No!No!

I have been using it 2-3 times a week for 4 weeks now, with no visible improvement in any terms. It does not even come close to a close shave as with razors, and in fact you can spend 45 minutes running it up and down your legs, everywhich way (to go against the hair grain, as instructed), and you will still have stubble.

Forget going over your knees, it will just burn your skin.

Oh, and the smell of burning hair?? Super sexy.

They give you 4 “heads”, and my first one wore out within 3 weeks, leaving me to using start using the smaller heads designed for your face, or use the 2nd (and last) larger head.

This product really shouldn’t be used by any woman who actually wants someone to feel soft, smooth, hairless skin, because it won’t deliver by any means.

Not happy! I ordered the No No from their site. Typed in my name and address and clicked continue. A new page popped up that had a picture of the product on the left with the price of $104 and CC info on the right. $104 (with S$H) was a great deal so I finished my order. After pages and pages of ’special offers’ (all of which I said no to) my order was confirmed to the tune of $270.

I was upset and sent them an e-mail that night asking to cancel my order or give me the advertised $104. Nothing.

The next day I sent them another e-mail say to cancel my order all together. Nothing.

So I called today. First time the phone rang once and then I was hung up on. Called again and even after 2 e-mails they had still sent out my No No this morning!

I realize I will get a full refund once I get it and return it, but I’m so ticked at the lack of response to my e-mails and the false advertising I’m not even going to use it once I get it, it’s going right back.

Even if this product does work I’m still a poor collage student and can’t afford to spend $270 on anything other then books.

Just saw HSN presentation & almost got sucked in again! & funny thing the negative reviews on HSN website (actually ALL the reviews) are gone……………………how’d they do that slick move?? Now a few positive comments were left here: obviously fakes-they are way too specific describing their neg experience & explaining it basically as user error. The fake adolescent slang in one is hysterical. Read them side by side & you will get what I mean!! Evidently this company is putting all their money into covering up their fraud! The google results are crazy-it is so obvious. How sad!! Thank goodness I found this site!!

I have had 2 years of laser hair removal which did nothing and cost me $1600. I have used the no no for 2 weeks on my face and have seen more results than the 2 years of laser treatment. No burns or scratches that everyone is talking about. I think people are pushing down to hard, trying to make it shave the hair. It doesn’t remove the hair like a electrical razor would. I still have to shave my face but I have already seen a reduction in hair growth.

This NoNo burns some hair and some not, and you have to be careful when you slide it on your skin because it opens you skin like tiny cuts. I think that you have to practice on your legs first before you venture to use it on you face. Be extremely careful on you face, specially the chin, keep Polysporil handy :) . Also, the smell of burnt hair is deep. I’m going to see if it works like they claimed.

I never intended on buying one after all of the terrible reviews I have read, however I did get one as a gift, so I decided to try it. It had Zero effect on reducing my body hair. This item is clearly marketed with phoney hype. My advice to anyone considering this product is, DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Not only does it fail to deliver as promised, but trying to work with these folks to get a refund, is a nightmare. They will do anything to avoid honoring their return policy. I know people are really looking for a solution, and may only seek reviews that would justify buying one, but hold off on this one, because the product is crap. Beware, because there are a number of so called review sites loaded with glowing reviews on this product. They are hoaxes aimed at selling this product.

(75) Jessica says:

I got the no!no! to try for a review. It was fine the first few times I used it and did an OK job so I didn’t say anything bad about it. I went to use it on my face the other day, and like the other women on here — it hurt in some areas and I thought “oh it really must be doing its job there!!!”. Little did I know it was slicing half-inch scratches into my face. I have a line of about 12 that go from the bottom of my lower lip (on the cheek side) to my jawline. I’m really embarassed and upset that this happened.

I saw that someone here asked about the silk n sense epil.

If you’re looking for hair removal that’s more permanent than shaving, doesn’t require as much hair grow-out as waxing and doesn’t cost as much as laser, an epilator is the way to go. I never shave under my arms anymore. I just use it — it removes hair when it’s like only 2 days grown. And it removes it for at least 3 days solidly, and the hair grows back fine (since it pulls it by the root), so you dont’ have to do it again as quickly. The one I have really shouldn’t be used on your face, BTW, but I use it under my arms, my legs, and bikini line (that hurts a lot, though).

It really hurts the first time you do it, but now I do it all the time and it doesn’t hurt at all. If you’re used to plucking a million times it’s the same thing. The results are 100% worth it – i sound like a walking advert for epilators but they really are the best choice.

(76) Michael says:

My experience after I have been using the NoNo now for a month, it hurts but just a little bit, it hasn’t cut, burned or removed a SINGLE hair on any place on my body, even when it is the correct length. Oh but it does burns and scars my skin and leaves visible cat like scratches as the wire from the tips are pulled in to my skin by the hair. On top of all that because the skin is wounded when I put the lotion that you have to put after the NoNo, it burns. I do not recommend this product nor will I use it again. Do not buy! It is not worth your hard earned money…

I body build and the nono works for me, at least when it works. The rubber band on the unit consistantly gives out. When I talk to customer service, I am always asked if I am using the unit properly. I feel that customer service is trying to do their best at blaming the poor workmanship on the user. Honestly, the company needs to fix this flaw. Nobody, however ever brings up this issue. It just can’t be that I am the only one that has this problem. I know that other are having this problem as well. Imagine the frustration, and then having to wait forever for the replacement unit to arrive. Also, I have had to pay to ship back the unit back.

You need to be careful about how genuine reviews of this product are. If you look on the web there are loads of reviews saying how wonderful the product is, however if you delve deeper you will find that even though the web sites look original and independent, they actually originate from the same company. To give you 2 examples (of many), http://www.beautybasin.com and www remedyreviewer.com look like unrelated companies, both reviewing the same product and giving it rave reviews, but the domain names belong to the same company. As mentioned above, these are just 2 of many many more, and all that is happening is that the company is trying to kid you into thinking that everyone loves this product. If that was really the case, why would they have to resort into trying to dupe people?

After much research, I bought a nono last weekend. When I used the facial attachment it kept “jumping” out and burning my skin. Also the setting kept moving from 1 bar to 3 bars ie the highest setting. The result is that I don’t yet have regrowth on my chin or upper lip, but I am walking around with small red scratch marks on my face. I don’t know which is more embarrassing, facial hair or red scratches over my face.

I bought a nono last week and It is excellent at the removal of body hair surpassed my expectations! However I have had the opposite results when it comes to my facial hair. I m from Italy and have it has always been a challenge to remove the hair from my upper lip and seeing the result on my body I was truly hopeful. Unfortunately when it has come to my face it is a train wreck!l Not only do I too have the burn scabs and marks on my cheek but it has made the hair on my upper lip thicker with out removing it.

Worthless! I tried the No!No! on my arm first and found that it might have removed a few hairs, but mostly just frizzled a lot of the rest. Even after using the buffing pad it looked as if I had done nothing to my arms.

It took me a few swipes to get the hang of the speed and pressure to use, so I only had a couple of little scratch/burn marks.

Fortunately, I bought it through HSN so I didn’t have to go through the refund nightmare others have reported with direct purchases.

Back to good ol’ Nair and razors for me.

I bought 3 of these one for me, my mom and niece. I tried it out before giving it to them, It simply does not work. I called HSN and they told me I was impatient not to wait the 60 days. Thank you everyone for your honest reviews. I was just about to buy this product since the last time I looked at reviews everything seemed great (I checked it out some time ago and then spent months saving money to buy it). I’m so glad I found this page. Not sure why I decided to check reviews again, maybe it all seemed too good to be true. Seems you have saved me a lot of money and hassle. I’m sorry for those of you who have had such terrible experiences. I wish you luck getting your money back. Guess it’s back to the drawing board for me…gotta find something to get rid of this hair.

Don’t know what to make of it, I’ve spent thousands on laser etc for my face with no results. I have heard if your hair is from hormones nothing will work. I am still hoping it will work, I have used it for 2 months now with no difference, maybe I was using it wrong, but it must be doing its job when I can smell the hair burning, I need this to work as facial hair on a woman is unsightly and mine is dark, course and lots of it.

April 11, 2012 at 3:50 pm
(88) Valerie says:

Do not buy the nono. It does not work the way they make it seem. You are better off shaving and waxing. The smell of burning hair is horrible. Also they tell you that you will be refunded the full amount plus the shipping. When you return the product they come out with that you have to pay both shipping cost. Do not waste your time or money.

(89) km says:

I purchased this product approximately five weeks ago. It doesn’t work as well as I had hoped however I am in no way disappointed. I have had a mustache for as long as I can remember. Not a great thing for a woman to have. I have to use the nono every other day on the thicker dark hair on my upper lip but the finer hair is gone. If I use plenty of “good” lotion my lip feels smooth! So if your looking for an instant hair remover this isnt for you, but if youd like for your children not to remind you that you have a mustache and be reminded of it everytime you look in the mirror I say TRY IT!

I was so happy when I receive my no no device yesterday. I could not wait to try it this morning. I must say i’m so disappointed, I correctly following all the information given. I use it on my face and it did not remove any hair, instead it burn the side of my lip which hurts for hours. Forget about he lotion that they say you must use after treatment, it has no use. The whole package will be leaving my house immediately. Don’t waste your money, if I had done my homework I wouldn’t have gotten caught in this.

I received my No No 8800 a few days ago. I have used it 3 times so far and a problem popped up already. The screen shows the Thermicon tip status such as 3 bars – new, 2 bars – used, 1 bar old, no bar – need to replace. Now after just 2 treatments the Thermicon tip bar is down to 1, which means old. Has anyone come across this problem so far? Is it just a problem with the screen or is there any underlying issue with the device? Anyone can comment?
Effectiveness wise not much happened just yet. I bought mine via ebay so no 60 day trial for me, but still hopeful. I only use it for my legs. Some people complained about the smell. The best solution for that is to open the windows, not masking it by air fresheners:)

(97) Nina says:

I am a dark brunette, 50+, with dark, coarse hairs along my jaw line, chin and under chin, & a few finer ones on my upper lip. Have been using the NoNo 8800 for about 6 months. It’s effect has been EXTREMELY LIMITED, but I keep persevering, since the stupid thing cost $300. Took a couple of weeks to get it to have any effect whatsoever. 1. Doesn’t work properly over the changing contours & textures of the chin, jaw & underchin area. Sort of “chatters” as the light engages & disengages depending on the area of contact over bone & looser skin areas. That’s when it’s causing those little “cat scratch” burns. It is necessary to stretch the skin uncomfortably taut to get the slow, smooth motion necessary to get it to function at all. 2. Only the highest setting has any effect whatsoever on the coarser hairs – even then, it’s not consistent. Often, after multiple passes, the hair remains. Trying again one or two days later still doesn’t work on those coarse hairs. 3. In order to “buff the crystalized hairs off” you again have to hold the skin taught and then apply friction with the little sanding pad- both things that you don’t want to do with 50 something chin skin – causes changes to the texture. I would have sent it back for a refund after 60 days, but I don’t trust that process – figured I’d get scammed, so decided to keep the stupid thing and keep trying. I think it’s probably having some effect on very fine hairs about which I was not concerned. As for the dark, coarse ones there has been NO CHANGE. I now have visible breakdown of the skin texture in the area, not to mention little scars from the tiny cut-like burns, and also, those coarse hairs that occasionally do get singed off, tend to come back as ingrowns which have to be excavated with sharp tweezers. Thanks for this forum – I notice that almost nothing negative gets shown on the web. I suspect some powerful “marketing” has been employed in order to disappear the truth from the internet. . .

(99) Fivepeasinapod says:

I just got one as a gift (I would NEVER spend $300 on something like this). It took me a few tries, and actually taking the time to read the CDROM manual, to get it right, but it works really well on my legs. I’m a brunette with very pale skin, so I basically have to shave my glow-in-the-dark legs everyday. This thing got nearly every hair and my legs feel pretty great after I buffed & moisturized them. It took about 1.5x as long as it would have to shave. I thought it was fairly quick. What I haven’t been having any success with is my facial hair. For some reason I can’t get it to glide properly. I’ve never burned myself, or ended up with cat scratches. Using it guarantees me a few minutes privacy, though – which might be worth $300! – because the smell of burning hair sends my kids screaming from the room! Ahh, peace, quiet and smooth legs! :)

(101) Kasara says:

It worked wonders for me, I don’t know what anyone here is talking about.
I used it 3 times a week for about 2 months and the hair regrowth was noticeably thinner.
It didn’t burn my skin or anything and I started using it on the highest setting. Then again I’ve never had sensitive skin.
I think a lot of people are just impatient and using it incorrectly. I didn’t even buy the lotion I use my own and at first it left a little stubble but after the hair stops growing back it’s hardly noticeable anymore.
I think what people don’t realize is that new hair is always going to grow on different parts of the body no matter what. It’s not a miracle, just a time saving tool.
