Early on writing for this wonderful Hair Removal Site me (read review) and my husband (read review) both tried out shaving creams from The Art of Shaving and were in awe. It could have partly been because neither one of us had used such a high end shaving cream and were entering a new world.
But after four years and trying out many tubes of shaving cream and gels, I haven't shaved with anything else that compares to the stuff. It really does give an exceptionally close shave and helps prevent against razor burn and ingrown hair.
My husband has treated his like gold and only cracks it open every once in awhile. (Mine was gone not too long after I got it.) Even after all these years he'll ask me to feel his soft, smooth freshly shaved face where he used an old dull razor saying, "That's The Art of Shaving." Even with the wrong tool and an old jar, we both can't believe it.
It's a very high end brand, so it is pricey. But a little goes a long way.
The sad part is the one that I tried seems like it has been discontinued, a rose scented shaving cream for women. Their sandalwood, lavender, ocean kelp and lemon scents are targeted to men. However if you are a woman, they do have an unscented version, pictured above (compare prices).
