Eyebrow shaving might seem like a quick easy way for shaping, but its not a good idea. Before you go taking a razor near your eyes, think twice, heres why:
- Thin skin. The area near your brows is very delicate and as the skin is a lot thinner than many places on your face and body. So you run the risk of getting scraped or cut. Remember, you cant hide your face under clothes like your legs or bikini line.
- Un-even results. Trying to put shape your brows can be tricky enough with waxing or tweezing. Adding shaving cream into the mix, and you have just made getting that perfect shape all the more complicated.
- Stubble isn't pretty. Eyebrow hair is rather coarse, and shaving creates a blunt edge. It's different when the entire hair follicle is removed (like waxing or tweezing) because it will grow back with a feathery, tapered edge. The blunt edge caused by shaving makes hair look like it's thicker.
- Short-lived. Shaving only takes hair even with the skin. So your results wont last very long, but you'll start to see stubble or a shadow in the next day or so. This means, youll have to shave them almost every day to keep your results.
Instead of Eyebrow Shaving, Try These Longer Lasting Options
There are many other hair removal methods that remove the entire hair follicle from the root. Options like:
waxing,
sugaring,
threading and
tweezing are much safer than using a razor, and will leave your eyebrows shaped for weeks at a time. So please, dont shave your brows!
