Guide Review - Nad’s Brazilian & Bikini Kit

Well, I am really torn. I really liked this product and yet, I really hated it all at the same time. This is a microwavable “hard wax”.

When you open the jar, wow, it’s hard. You have to heat it to a specific consistency. A degree in rocket science and a precise microwave is needed. Okay, that may be an exaggeration, but you may have to adjust the time of heating by a few seconds or minutes. Once the wax is heated just right, (not like porridge, but like thick honey) you use the spatula, apply a layer and remove the unwanted hair.

By the way, there are no strips for this product because it is a hard wax. The wax hardens around the hair as it dries so there is no need for strips. With this in mind, you cannot wait too long because it will harden to a point that it will crack into pieces. Then, you have a painful journey that reminds me of Wild E. Coyote removing thorns from a cactus out of his… Back to the point…

Before beginning, your skin needs to be clean and dry. If there is any oil on your skin, forget about it! You will have needlessly caused yourself discomfort with out the benefit of hair removal. You only get two spatulas and two sticks for the smaller areas, which is not nearly enough.

Nad’s Brazilian & Bikini Kit also comes with shapes. Yes, you too can have the ever-popular landing strip, triangle or heart, or get really crazy and go for the lightning bolt. A hint…. skip it. Unless you like pain, leave the shaping with wax to a professional!

I have been using home wax kits for several years now and last week decided to try Nads as my usual kit was unavailable. And so the problems, frustration and pain began! First the heating instructions were wildly innaccurate, 90 seconds according to manufacturer actually took 4.45 minutes to melt half the pot! Application was a nightmare the ""spatula"" is no more than an ice lolly stick. Way to narrow to be able to apply an adequate amount of wax to any area. I tried to apply the amount of wax I would normally use only for it to spill off the lolly stick and onto the carpet! Tried again with less wax and did manage to apply but because the quantity was lacking the wax cooled to the consistency of very thin, brittle toffee and on attempted removal it just cracked into tiny pieces. The pain, incovenience and excessive time of having to use a pair of tweezers to pull off tiny pieces of wax stuck to each hair was just incredible! Maybe some people have had success with this product but I unfortunately am not one of them! I am now off to attempt the removal of wax from my bedroom carpet before I go th the shop for some of my usual product! (Veet) I will never be tempted to stray again!
