EZ Waterless Shave Copyright by BodyVerde

The Bottom Line

EZ Waterless Shave is a great gel to use for quick shaving or to save on water. However, I wouldn’t use it without any water. It works best when you have a steady stream to rinse the blade.

Pros:

  • Gives a close shave, even on thick hair
  • Very moisturizing
  • No need to wet skin or lather

Cons:

  • Can clog razor if not rinsed
Description:
  • Manufacturer: Body Verde
  • Usage: Waterless shaving gel
  • Average Price: $12.99 at time of review (discounts for buying multiple bottles at once)

Review: EZ Waterless Shave

Here's how it works: Put a little bit on so that it thinly coats hair. Then shave area. The lotion doesn’t even have to be rinsed off. Anything that remains can be rubbed into the skin, like a built-in aftershave.

Its consistency is thin like a light lotion. In fact it can be used simply as a lotion for dry skin or between shaves.

Show Me What You Got

I gave it a whirl on my underarms on bone dry skin. It gave a really close shave. Wow! I honestly couldn’t believe the gel did such a wonderful job. It worked better than a lot of other shaving creams and gels with water I’ve used in the shower where the warmth has time to soften the hair!

Not only was there no trace of irritation, but my skin felt soft. Sometimes products can leave you feeling itchy or tight, but not this one. (See more: Itchy from Shaving?)

The consistency is fairly thin and the scent is very light, not overpowering at all. I would consider it very fresh smelling with a slight citrus aroma. It’s neutral enough for both men and women.

The Real Test- Thick Facial Hair

It worked wonders for me, but a lot of my underarm hair is reduced from using Silk’n (read review). So the real test would be thick hair. I gave it to my husband to try for his face. He has extremely thick facial hair.

I didn’t tell him what I thought to sway him in a direction. But he also had the same first impression- it wasn’t going to be anything that great.

After actually putting it to the test, he also couldn’t believe how soft and close of shave he got- no irritation or bumps. He kept telling me how much he liked it. I asked him if it worked better than his regular drugstore shaving gel, and he said, “Yes, definitely.”

Maybe Not Completely Waterless

The only issue with this product is that after a couple strokes or the razor gets clogged with product and hair, and then the razor doesn't work well. I tried rinsing the blade by pouring some water from a water bottle over it, but the product still stuck. I also tried taking a cloth and wiping the razor. Unfortunately, that only removed a bit.

I had to rinse the blade at the bathroom sink to unclog it. So it seems there needs to be a strong stream of water, not for the skin but on the blade to get a good shave.

Normally having to rinse the blade isn’t considered a downfall for other shaving gels or creams because they don’t claim to be waterless and we know using h20 comes with the territory. And the only reason it is a con for this product is because it says you can shave without water.

I think technically you could shave without any water whatsoever if you only had to remove a small area of hair, weren’t concerned about getting a close shave or had an endless supply of razors.
