A pre shaving oil is applied on right before your cream or gel to help soften, moisturize and protect the skin from the razor. Working as a barrier on your skin, the razor will glide easier instead of dragging. I would say most people totally skip this step because they are simply unaware this shaving product exists or its benefits. Main shaving problems like razor burn, general irritation and ingrown hairs can be avoided or curbed from using this oil.I can’t speak for all formulas, but this pre shaving oil does the job, and to think it’s natural as well. Irritation often greets me in the bikini area, and I didn’t get redness or bumps after using it. Plus, my skin was extra soft. The light grapefruit scent was refreshing, but not too over-powering or fruity for a man.
The antiseptic properties in tamanu oil help nicks and cuts heal and counteract bacteria causing inflamed skin and acne from shaving. Other skin nourishing oils found in their product are: grape seed, avocado, macadamia and jojoba.
Not what you would call an inexpensive item, you don’t need a lot as a little does go a long way. While you might not need it everywhere you shave unless you have sensitive skin, you could benefit in areas that give you the most problems like the bikini area, underarms or men’s facial hair.
