Why Waxing is a Money Maker

Working as an Esthetician can be a very lucrative career, but definitely doesn't happen overnight. It takes a lot of hard work building a clientele. Many of the services performed are viewed as more of a luxury, as opposed to a hair services which are needed.

However, waxing is being considered more necessary than ever before. Which is one of the reasons why waxing-only salons are opening all over the country.

Waxing, and by extension other temporary hair removal methods done professionally like threading and sugaring, are wonderful skills to master for not only building a clientele, but making money.

It's not a time sensitive service. When someone books a 60 minute facial, understandably they want to be given full attention for the entire hour. With removing hair, the quicker the better. No one is going to be upset if a bikini wax takes 15 minutes, or their upper lip is threaded in two minutes as long as it's done professionally and the hair is gone.

An easy add on. While someone is already at the spa, many will say yes to a brow wax after a facial or haircut.
