I can't believe it has been one year since I have last used the Tria laser hair removal system. When I finished using the laser on my bikini line I had about a 95% hair reduction where I used the highest setting and a 90% reduction where I used the second setting deeper in my bikini line (read review). I used the first Tria released that had three power settings, the updated model now has five.
How Does My Bikini Line Look Now?
I can't tell you how many emails I have gotten asking if any hair has grown back after using the system. I did an update after six months, and let you know then that my results were still the same. What about now? So, a drum roll please… As far as I can tell, no hair has come back and my hair reduction is the same as last year.
It has been great with such a huge reduction in hair. I love hardly having to shave and not getting ingrown hairs. I don't wax my bikini line ever because I don't want any hair removal method damaging the hair follicle and altering any hair-free results I see.
Updated Model with Two New Power Settings
I had a chance to try out the updated Tria with five power settings. Originally Tria had three: low, medium and high. But a setting has been added to the high end and the low end. This new top setting is now stronger, giving off more heat to disable the hair follicle than the highest setting on the previous model.
So I tested out the highest setting on my lower thigh to see how it felt. I have to say, it didn't really feel that much different than what I remember in the pain department from the high setting on the first Tria released. It wasn't that uncomfortable. That could be because zapping away at a bikini line is more sensitive than the thigh, I'm not sure.
I thought that the device would have five lights on the panel, but it still has three. They have an instructions manual that tells you what lights need to be shown to get to each of the five levels.
