The Bottom Line
Using certified organic and fair trade ingredients makes this a true ‘green’ product at a great price. The only flaw is that the gel gets watery in hot weather and is too thin for coarse hair, like shaving a man's face.

Guide Review - Dr. Bronner's Organic Shaving Gel
When I turned the container upside down without a squeeze, the shaving gel poured out wasting a lot of product landing on the floor (during the summer). The consistency could be compared to a thin body wash, and it also lathers up soapy. As the weather cooled down during the Fall, the consistency became thicker.
The peppermint-spearmint combination was amazing. It tingled my skin, and you could tell the fragrance was the real mccoy of essential oils, and not artificial scents like perfumes. I'm addicted to essential oils, so that is a huge plus for me!
Although it wasn't a dramatic difference, I didn’t get as close of a shave as I normally do on my legs from using my usual razor, but thicker shaving gel. My husband also tried it on shaving his face, but after a few strokes had to take it off because it wasn't gliding over his skin. I wouldn't recommend it for a men's shaving gel because it's not a good choice for shaving thick, coarse hair.
I was very impressed by the ingredients list which are natural, organic and fair trade. A lot of companies try to jump on the green-living bandwagon to make money, but trick consumers by still using toxic chemicals mixed with diluted organic ingredients. This is organic shaving gel I can feel good about putting on my skin. Because ingredients are so important to me, especially when shopping for green products I listed them for you.
