Name the Most Common Misconceptions About Electrolysis

A misconception is that electrolysis is too expensive. If you are someone that needs to wax every 3-4 weeks, with electrolysis, depending on the area and amount of hair and thickness, you will have to come maybe once a week or every other week. But, within 2 months you will notice a big difference in the amount and thickness of the hairs. After 6 months the difference will be considerable and you will probably need treatments every 3-4 weeks. Contrary to waxing, which will never end, you will eventually be rid of all your unwanted hair, thus making electrolysis cheaper than waxing.

What Do You Most Love About Electrolysis?

The changes I see in my client's self esteem. I have young girls that come to me and think that they are the only girl (in the whole world) that has hairs where they were not supposed to be. After their first consultation they leave my office with hope. I have treated young women that used to shave everyday (sometimes twice a day) that only come for clean ups now. They all tell me that it was the best thing they did for themselves.

Electrolysis is the only FDA approved method for permanent hair removal. The process is a simple one. You insert a probe into the hair folicle and give very quick bursts of heat, eventually cautherizing the hair papila (what makes the hair grow). Some people are more sensitive than others so we can adjust the heat (to a certain degree) or suggest numbing creams.

I believe in electrolysis (being a fuzzy person myself) and wholeheartedly believe that if you have unwanted facial hairs you must get rid of it. It will change your life (to the better, of course).

Advice

  • Be confortable with your electrologist.
  • You don't have to love your treatments but don't hate it either, (you will have to go back). So, let your electrologist know if it's too hot for you.
  • If you don't see a difference within 2-3 months, you should talk to your gynecologist. If you have no medical condition causing your excess hair, find another electrologist.
  • ELECTROLYSIS WORKS.
